This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Excessive heat risk.


Afternoon temperatures in the middle and upper 90s combined with
a humid airmass will produce heat index values of around 100 to
near 108 degrees. The hottest temperatures will occur from
southeastern Kansas into central Missouri.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

An extended period of excessive heat will persist into Saturday.
High temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 90s while
afternoon heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees will be
common. The hottest temperatures will occur from southeastern
Kansas into central Missouri.

A front will approach from the north late Saturday and will be the
focus for showers ands thunderstorms Sunday and Monday. This front
will also act to reduce temperatures during this timeframe.
Additional scattered rain chances and higher heat indicies will
return by middle of next week.


Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
