This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Excessive heat risk.

DISCUSSION...

Heat index values between 95 and 105 degrees will continue
into early this evening. The highest heat indices will occur
along the I-49 corridor and near the Highway 54 corridor in
central Missouri.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

An extended hot spell will persist the remainder of the week
into Saturday. High temperatures will climb into the middle
and upper 90s while heat index values between 98 and 108
degrees will be common. The hottest temperatures will occur
from southeastern Kansas into central Missouri.

Slightly cooler temperatures are then expected on Sunday and
especially next Monday and Tuesday as a front slides south
into the region. This front will also bring a chance for
thunderstorms from Sunday into early next work week.
