...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT
SATURDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Afternoon air temperatures across much of the
Missouri Ozarks and southeastern Kansas will warm into the mid
and upper 90s through Saturday. These temperatures combined
with abundant humidity will produce heat index values between
102 and 108 degrees for multiple days in a row across the
warning area.

* IMPACTS...A prolonged period of hot weather can increase the
risk of heat related illness, including heat exhaustion and
heat stroke. The very young, the elderly, and those without
access to air conditioning will be especially vulnerable.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS
SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.
