...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* TEMPERATURE...Temperatures will quickly warm into the middle
90s this afternoon as high clouds decrease. Heat index values
will be around the 110 degree mark.

* IMPACTS...Hot and humid conditions will lead to dangerously
high heat index values this afternoon across southeastern
Kansas and western Missouri. Exposure to these conditions will
increase the potential for heat related illness. Young
children and the elderly are especially susceptible to these
conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a DANGEROUS
SITUATION in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.
