OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE RISK.
LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.
ELEVATED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION...

AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 98 TO 104 DEGREES. A
HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT NORTH OF A FORT SCOTT KANSAS TO
STOCKTON TO VERSAILLES MISSOURI LINE.

A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE INTO EARLY THIS EVENING
MAINLY EAST OF HIGHWAY 65. CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...BRIEF
HEAVY RAINFALL...AND WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH WILL BE THE MAIN
POTENTIAL HAZARDS WITH ANY STORMS THAT FORM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES SUNDAY THROUGH THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. SOME STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE ON SUNDAY
AFTERNOON ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60 WITH DAMAGING WINDS
BEING THE PRIMARY THREAT.

AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM 100 TO 109 FROM SATURDAY
THROUGH SUNDAY. A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE
AREA FROM SATURDAY THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY EVENING.

AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES WILL ONCE AGAIN APPROACH 100 DEGREES
LATE NEXT WEEK.
