THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE RISK.
ELEVATED LIGHTNING RISK.
ELEVATED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION...

THUNDERSTORMS ARE CURRENTLY ONGOING ACROSS NORTHERN MISSOURI
EARLY THIS MORNING. THESE STORMS WILL DRIFT SOUTH AND MAY CLIP
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MISSOURI THIS MORNING GENERALLY NORTH OF AN
OSCEOLA TO ROLLA LINE. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE AS
THEY SAG SOUTH BY THE LATE MORNING HOURS. A FEW STRONG STORMS
WITH WIND GUST TO 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGER
STORMS.

ADDITIONAL SCATTERED STORM DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING ALONG AND NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY
54 CORRIDOR BUT WILL NOT BE WIDESPREAD IN NATURE. THERE WILL BE
A RISK FOR DAMAGING WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES AND BRIEF
HEAVY DOWNPOURS.

AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES THIS AFTERNOON WILL RANGE FROM
AROUND 100 DEGREES OVER SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI TO 108 DEGREES
OVER EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE AT TIMES FROM MONDAY THROUGH
THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THERE IS A LIMITED TO ELEVATED SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM RISK MONDAY WITH A LIMITED RISK ACROSS SOUTHERN
MISSOURI TUESDAY. DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY RISK BOTH
DAYS. IN ADDITION...CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND BRIEF HEAVY
DOWNPOURS WILL ALSO OCCUR WITH THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY.

AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE 100 TO 106 DEGREE RANGE WILL
AGAIN BE POSSIBLE MONDAY WITH VALUES AGAIN APPROACHING 100
DEGREES BY LATE NEXT WEEK.
