THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE RISK.
LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.
LIMITED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION...

HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL REACH UP ITO THE MID 90S IN MANY AREAS THIS
AFTERNOON. VALUES IN THE UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100 WILL OCCUR OVER
PARTS OF FAR SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND WESTERN MISSOURI.

A SEVERE COMPLEX OF STORMS IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE PLAINS
TODAY AND SHIFT EAST INTO NORTHERN MISSOURI AND THE MIDWEST
TONIGHT. THE SOUTHERN EXTENT OF THIS STORM COMPLEX IS EXPECTED TO
PUSH AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY INTO CENTRAL MISSOURI TONIGHT AND THIS
MAY TRIGGER SOME STORMS...BUT THE OVERALL RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS
IS LOW.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL REACH THE MIDDLE 90S TO AROUND 100 DEGREES
AGAIN WEDNESDAY.

STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH THE BEST CHANCES OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI IN COUNTIES ALONG AND EAST OF A LINE FROM VIENNA TO FORT
LEONARD WOOD TO WEST PLAINS. THE CHANCES FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL
BE TIED TO THE STRENGTH OF A STORM SUPPRESSING CAP OVER THE REGION
WHICH IS EXPECTED TO BE STRONGEST OVER KANSAS AND WESTERN MISSOURI
AND WEAKER OVER SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI. IF SEVERE STORMS CAN
DEVELOP...THE MAIN RISKS WOULD BE DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.

PERIODIC ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR THURSDAY TO SUNDAY. STRONG
TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES. AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN
AND POSSIBLE FLOODING WILL BE A CONCERN DEPENDING ON THE TRACK OF
THUNDERSTORM COMPLEXES.
