OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED HAIL RISK.
LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.
LIMITED EXCESSIVE COLD RISK.
LIMITED NON THUNDERSTORM WIND RISK.
ELEVATED ICE ACCUMULATION RISK.
ELEVATED SNOW AND SLEET RISK.

DISCUSSION...

PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AND THEN INCREASE IN
COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THIS EVENING INTO TONIGHT...WITH RAIN
CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK AREA.
FREEZING RAIN WILL MIX WITH AND IN SOME CASES CHANGE OVER TO
SLEET BY EARLY TOMORROW MORNING ALONG AND NORTH OF I-44. ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS MAY ACCOMPANY THE PRECIPITATION OVER SOUTHERN
MISSOURI WHICH WOULD ENHANCE PRECIPITATION TOTALS. PLEASE
REFERENCE THE LATEST WINTER STORM WARNING FOR DETAILS ON THIS
WINTER STORM.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT ACROSS
THE OUTLOOK AREA. SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ARE EXPECTED AT
VARIOUS TIMES ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA. SNOW WILL BE MOST COMMON
NORTH OF U.S. 54 SUNDAY...WITH FREEZING RAIN SOUTH OF A LINE FROM
BRANSON TO EMINENCE. BETWEEN THESE TWO AREAS...SLEET CAN BE
EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF THE DAY SUNDAY. PRECIPITATION WILL
TRANSITION TO ALL SNOW ACROSS MOST OF THE OUTLOOK AREA SUNDAY
NIGHT. PLEASE SEE THE LATEST WINTER STORM WARNING FOR THE MOST UP
TO DATE ACCUMULATION FORECASTS FOR THIS WINTER STORM.

IN ADDITION TO THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSOURI ON SUNDAY.
WHERE THE THUNDERSTORMS OCCUR...PRECIPITATION RATES WILL BE ENHANCED.

NORTHERLY WIND GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED THROUGH SUNDAY
NIGHT. THESE WINDS WILL RESULT IN CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING OF SNOW. IN ADDITION...THESE WINDS MAY ENHANCE THE
IMPACT OF FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATIONS ON TREES AND POWER LINES.

A BITTERLY COLD AIR MASS WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION SUNDAY NIGHT
THROUGH TUESDAY WITH WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 20 BELOW ZERO AT TIMES.
