THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.
LIMITED NON THUNDERSTORM WIND RISK.
SIGNIFICANT FIRE WEATHER RISK.

DISCUSSION...

STRONG LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO THE PLAINS WITH INCREASING
SOUTH WINDS TODAY. GUSTS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THIS
MORNING THROUGH TONIGHT...MAINLY NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM BRANSON TO
HOUSTON TO SALEM. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE OVER SOUTHEAST KANSAS
AND WESTERN MISSOURI.

LOW HUMIDITY AND STRONG WINDS WILL PRODUCE AN ELEVATED TO
SIGNIFICANT OUTDOOR FIRE DANGER TODAY WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR HARD
TO CONTROL AND FAST SPREADING NATURAL COVER FIRES.

A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TONIGHT AS AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVES QUICKLY THROUGH THE REGION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 30 MPH TO AS HIGH AS 45
MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER
SOUTHEAST KANSAS INTO WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MISSOURI.

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY AND THURSDAY
NIGHT AS A STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. STRONG VERTICAL
WIND SHEAR AND AT LEAST SOME INSTABILITY WILL PRODUCE A THREAT
FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI FRIDAY EVENING AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES THROUGH ARKANSAS.

GUSTY SOUTH WINDS AND AN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL AGAIN BE
POSSIBLE SUNDAY.
