WEDNESDAY...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO
TAPER TO FREEZING DRIZZLE WITH OCCASIONAL LIGHT SNOW THIS
AFTERNOON EAST OF THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR. POCKETS OF SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN ARE ALSO EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.
PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE WITH POCKETS OF LIGHT SNOW ARE THEN
EXPECTED TONIGHT ACROSS THE EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS.

MEANWHILE...PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE WITH OCCASIONAL POCKETS OF
LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT ALONG AND WEST OF THE
HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THROUGH TONIGHT FOR SOUTHEASTERN
KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS SOUTH OF A GIRARD KANSAS TO
VERSAILLES MISSOURI LINE.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 1
TO 3 INCHES WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS AROUND 4 INCHES. THE
HIGHEST SNOW AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY OCCUR FROM THE BULL SHOALS LAKE
REGION TOWARDS WEST PLAINS AND WINONA. SLEET ACCUMULATIONS UP TO
A QUARTER INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE...MAINLY NEAR THE ARKANSAS
BORDER.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE
ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED GENERALLY SOUTH OF A BRANSON TO
EMINENCE LINE. A VERY THIN GLAZE WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
THE REMAINDER OF THE ADVISORY AREA DUE TO THE EXPECTED FREEZING
DRIZZLE.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITIES...SNOWFALL RATES COULD REDUCE THE
VISIBILITY TO AROUND A HALF MILE AT TIMES. WIND GUSTS UP TO 20
MPH COULD CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS INDICATING ROADS
ARE SNOW COVERED WITH SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ACROSS EXTREME
SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS. SNOW COVERED AND
TREACHEROUS ROADWAYS WILL LIKELY PERSIST THROUGH TONIGHT. PATCHY
FREEZING DRIZZLE AND BLOWING SNOW MAY ALSO ADD TO TRAVEL
DIFFICULTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...
OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
