WEDNESDAY...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS INTO EARLY
THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE
MISSOURI OZARKS BY NOON AND WILL PERSIST THROUGH THIS
AFTERNOON.

MEANWHILE...THE SNOW MAY CHANGEOVER TO FREEZING RAIN ACROSS FAR
SOUTHERN MISSOURI FOR A TIME LATE THIS MORNING AND THIS
AFTERNOON. ADDITIONALLY...POCKETS OF OF SLEET WILL ALSO MIX IN
WITH THE SNOW ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSOURI.

AS WE HEAD INTO LATER THIS AFTERNOON...THE SNOW WILL DIMINISH
ACROSS PORTIONS OF EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND SOUTHWESTERN
MISSOURI WITH PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE DEVELOPING AND CONTINUING
INTO THIS EVENING.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THROUGH TONIGHT FOR SOUTHEASTERN
KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 2
TO 5 INCHES. MOST OF THE SLEET IS EXPECTED TO FALL ALONG AND
SOUTH OF A NEOSHO TO SPRINGFIELD TO SALEM LINE. SLEET
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A QUARTER INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION
IS EXPECTED GENERALLY SOUTH OF AN ANDERSON TO AVA TO EMINENCE
LINE. A VERY THIN GLAZE WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE ACROSS EXTREME
SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI DUE TO THE
EXPECTED FREEZING DRIZZLE.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES
COULD REDUCE THE VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES.
WIND GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH COULD CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW.

* IMPACTS...THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS INDICATING ROADS
ARE SNOW COVERED ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MOST OF
THE MISSOURI OZARKS. SNOW COVERED AND TREACHEROUS ROADWAYS WILL
LIKELY PERSIST THROUGH TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...
OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
