THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED NON THUNDERSTORM WIND RISK.
LIMITED FOG RISK.
LIMITED ICE ACCUMULATION RISK.
LIMITED SNOW RISK.

DISCUSSION...

SOUTHEASTERLY WIND GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES
TODAY ALONG THE OZARK PLATEAU.

LIGHT WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED FROM MID MORNING INTO THE
AFTERNOON HOURS TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARM ENOUGH TO PRECLUDE ANY SIGNIFICANT
IMPACTS FROM THIS PRECIPITATION...THOUGH A FEW BRIEF SLICK SPOTS
MAY BE POSSIBLE ON AREA ROADWAYS.

LATER TONIGHT...AREAS OF DRIZZLE...FOG...AND FREEZING DRIZZLE
WILL BE POSSIBLE. A THIN GLAZE OF ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE WHERE
FREEZING DRIZZLE DEVELOPS. IN ADDITION...FOG WILL REDUCE
VISIBILITY TO A MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

CONFIDENCE CONTINUES TO INCREASE THAT A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM
WILL IMPACT THE OUTLOOK AREA THIS WEEKEND. FREEZING RAIN...SLEET
AND SNOW ALL APPEAR LIKELY ACROSS THE AREA SATURDAY NIGHT
THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. GREATER THAN A QUARTER INCH OF ICE WILL BE
POSSIBLE FOR AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF U.S. 60. ACCUMULATING SNOW
IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS NORTH OF
THE HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR...WHERE SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
ARE POSSIBLE. SIGNIFICANT SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG
THE GREATER I-44 CORRIDOR. THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
SOUTHERN MISSOURI...WHICH WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL ENHANCE
ACCUMULATIONS.

BRISK NORTHERLY WIND GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM
SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. THESE WINDS MAY ENHANCE IMPACTS FROM
FREEZING RAIN ON TREES AND POWER LINES.

A BITTERLY COLD AIR MASS WILL THEN FILTER INTO THE REGION BEHIND
THIS STORM SYSTEM FOR THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. THIS WILL
RESULT IN WIND CHILLS RANGING FROM 5 TO 15 BELOW ZERO AT TIMES.

A WEAK STORM SYSTEM MAY BRING SOME LIGHT SNOW TO THE REGION
AROUND THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
