...WINTER STORM AND DANGEROUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES...

.A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE
MISSOURI OZARKS AND SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS TODAY. MODERATE TO HEAVY
SNOW HAS SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA EARLY THIS MORNING AND WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE MORNING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON.
GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR ALONG AND EAST OF THE U.S.
65 CORRIDOR AND NORTH OF U.S. 60. 7 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOW WITH
LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 10 INCHES ARE EXPECTED EAST OF HIGHWAY
65 AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60. A SWATH OF 4 TO 7 INCHES IS EXPECTED
ALONG THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 60 IN SOUTH
CENTRAL MISSOURI. AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS
THE REMAINDER OF WESTERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN
KANSAS. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO FLURRIES AND END FROM WEST TO EAST
LATER THIS MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON.

MEANWHILE...STRONG NORTH WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM SYSTEM
RESULTING IN NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES ACROSS THE CENTRAL
AND EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS THIS MORNING. VISIBILITIES DOWN TO
AROUND A QUARTER MILE OR LESS ALONG WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED. WIND CHILL VALUES WILL ALSO FALL BELOW ZERO
THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY.

DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS ARE THEN EXPECTED TONIGHT AS
TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE 0 TO -10 RANGE. WIND CHILLS BY EARLY
MONDAY MORNING WILL RANGE FROM -20 TO -30.

NOON CST MONDAY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING
SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...MODERATE TO SOMETIMES HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING
SNOW WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH BY LATE MORNING. NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY MAY
DEVELOP AT TIMES WITH THE BLOWING SNOW.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...AREAS WEST OF THE HIGHWAY 65
CORRIDOR THROUGH THIS MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 2 TO 5
INCHES WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS CLOSER TO HIGHWAY 65.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...SUSTAINED NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH
WITH GUSTS OVER 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED TODAY. THIS WILL CREATE
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WHILE FREQUENTLY REDUCING VISIBILITIES
TO LESS THAN A MILE.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILLS WILL FALL INTO THE SINGLE
DIGITS BELOW ZERO THIS MORNING AND THEN FALL INTO THE MINUS 20
TO MINUS 30 BELOW ZERO RANGE FROM LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY
MORNING. AIR TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE 0 TO MINUS 10
DEGREE RANGE BY MONDAY MORNING...WITH THE COLDEST READING ACROSS
CENTRAL MISSOURI.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE FROM NORTHWEST TO
SOUTHEAST THIS MORNING...INCLUDING STATE HIGHWAYS 54...60... AND
13...ALONG WITH INTERSTATES 49 AND 44. DANGEROUSLY COLD
CONDITIONS WILL ALSO DEVELOP STARTING LATE TONIGHT AND PERSIST
THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK.
