...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
THURSDAY...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST THURSDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...SNOW CONTINUES TO SPREAD EAST ACROSS
SOUTHEAST KANSAS INTO MISSOURI. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE SNOW
EXTENDS FROM THE MONET AND SPRINGFIELD AREAS TO JUST WEST OF
OSAGE BEACH AND CAMDENTON. RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS
INDICATE A BAND OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW IS OCCURRING FROM
PITTSBURG KANSAS NORTHEAST THROUGH THE NEVADA...WARSAW...AND
VERSAILLES AREAS. SNOW WILL BEGIN IN THE SPRINGFIELD AREA OVER
THE NEXT HALF HOUR.

SNOW COVERED ROADS ARE REPORTED ALONG I-49 FROM THE JOPLIN AREA
NORTH. ROADS WILL QUICKLY BECOME SNOW COVERED AFTER THE SNOW
STARTS. GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL CAUSE THE BLOWING OF SNOW AS
WELL.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THE
OVERNIGHT PERIOD ALONG AND NORTH OF A NEOSHO...TO AVA...TO SALEM
LINE.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 TO 4 INCHES ALONG AND NORTH OF A
PITTSBURG KANSAS TO BOLIVAR TO ROLLA MISSOURI LINE. 1 TO 2
INCHES IS EXPECTED IN THE ADVISORY AREA SOUTH OF THIS LINE.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...BRISK NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH WITH
GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH MAY RESULT IN SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW ALONG WITH LOCALIZED REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY.

WIND CHILL VALUES WILL FALL INTO THE FIVE BELOW TO FIVE ABOVE
ZERO RANGE LATE TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE FROM NORTHWEST TO
SOUTHEAST FROM THIS EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS INCLUDING
STATE HIGHWAYS 54...13...65...AND 63...AND ALONG INTERSTATES
49 AND 44.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT
VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND
BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
AREAS.
