A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TODAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...TEMPERATURES WERE RANGING FROM AROUND 3 IN
THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MISSOURI TO 11 BELOW ZERO AROUND LAKE OF
THE OZARKS WITH WIND CHILLS FROM AROUND MINUS 8 TO MINUS 25.
TEMPERATURES SHOULD CONTINUE TO IMPROVE SLIGHTLY THROUGH THE
REMAINDER OF THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND ON TUESDAY MORNING.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND ALL
OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS. ADVISORY CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR TUESDAY
MORNING.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE BETWEEN 10 AND 25
BELOW ZERO WILL BE COMMON TONIGHT. THE COLDEST VALUES WILL BE
OVER CENTRAL MISSOURI IN THE ROLLA AREA.

* IMPACTS...WIND CHILLS OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN RESULT IN FROST
BITE ON EXPOSED SKIN IN AS LITTLE AS 30 MINUTES. THOSE OUTDOORS
WITHOUT SUFFICIENT PROTECTION WILL RUN A HIGH RISK FOR FROST
BITE OR HYPOTHERMIA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

PETS ARE ALSO SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE EXTREME COLD. KEEP PETS INDOORS
AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IF THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE...MAKE SURE OUTDOOR
PETS HAVE WARM DRY SHELTER. PROVIDE SUFFICIENT FOOD AND FRESH
UNFROZEN WATER.
