...ACCUMULATING SNOW LIKELY SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY AND
BITTERLY COLD SUNDAY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK...

OUR ACTIVE WINTER SEASON CONTINUES. YET ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW IS
EXPECTED SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY FOLLOWED BY A BLAST OF FRIGID AIR
SUNDAY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.

A STORM SYSTEM WILL TAKE SHAPE OVER THE MIDWEST LATE SATURDAY AND
SATURDAY NIGHT. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE REGION
SATURDAY NIGHT AND MOVE NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY
REGION ON SUNDAY. A SWATH OF ACCUMULATING SNOW IS LIKELY ACROSS
THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA. AT THIS TIME THE MOST FAVORED AREA FOR
ACCUMULATING SNOW EXCEEDING FOUR INCHES IS EAST OF THE HIGHWAY 65
CORRIDOR...WITH LESSER AMOUNTS EXPECTED TO THE WEST. PLEASE STAY
ABREAST OF THE LATEST FORECASTS AS UPDATES WILL FURTHER REFINE
SNOW ACCUMULATION EXPECTATIONS.

CONFIDENCE IS HIGH THAT A BITTERLY COLD AIRMASS WILL MOVE INTO THE
REGION SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. STRONG ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE WILL
MOVE INTO THE MIDWEST AND DELIVER THE COLDEST AIRMASS OF THE
SEASON. LOW TEMPERATURES SUNDAY NIGHT WILL RANGE FROM AROUND -5
DEGREES IN CENTRAL MISSOURI TO AROUND 5 DEGREES ABOVE ZERO IN
AREAS NEAR THE MISSOURI ARKANSAS STATE LINE. HIGH TEMPERATURES ON
MONDAY WILL STRUGGLE TO RISE INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO.
THE COLDEST NIGHT WILL BE MONDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE
FROM AROUND -5 TO AROUND 0 DEGREES AREA WIDE. IN ADDITION...A
NORTH WIND WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILL VALUES BETWEEN -5 AND -20
DEGREES FROM SUNDAY THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY. IF SNOW COVER DEVELOPS
AS EXPECTED...THERE IS A RISK TEMPERATURES MAY BE COLDER THAN
FORECAST.

ALL AREA INTERESTS ARE URGED TO STAY ABREAST OF THE LATEST
FORECASTS AS FURTHER REFINEMENTS ARE EXPECTED.
