IN ITS WAKE...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

SIGNIFICANT EXCESSIVE COLD RISK.
LIMITED NON THUNDERSTORM WIND RISK.
ELEVATED SNOW RISK.

DISCUSSION...

A WINTER STORM WILL SLOWLY DEPART THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW
WILL BECOME LIGHT IN NATURE AND THEN END FROM WEST TO EAST FROM
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY THIS EVENING. ADDITIONAL
ACCUMULATIONS EARLY THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE MINOR WEST OF HIGHWAY
65. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS AROUND A HALF INCH CAN BE EXPECTED
ALONG THE HIGHWAY 65 CORRIDOR...WITH AROUND TWO INCHES ACROSS THE
FAR EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS.

STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 7 TO 10 INCHES WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS
UP TO 11 INCHES ARE EXPECTED EAST OF HIGHWAY 65 AND NORTH OF
HIGHWAY 60. A SWATH OF 4 TO 7 INCHES IS EXPECTED ALONG THE HIGHWAY
65 CORRIDOR AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 60 IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.
AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF
WESTERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.

MEANWHILE...GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING
WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH AT TIMES. THESE BRISK AND GUSTY WINDS
WILL PRODUCE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW WHICH WILL REDUCE
VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES.

BITTERLY COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION
BEHIND THIS STORM SYSTEM TODAY AND TONIGHT. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL
DROP INTO THE ZERO TO MINUS 13 RANGE...WITH THE COLDEST READINGS
ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI. DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS OF 15 TO 30
DEGREES BELOW ZERO WILL ALSO OCCUR AT TIMES LATER TODAY INTO
MONDAY MORNING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

THE BITTERLY COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA EARLY IN
THE WEEK. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO RISE ABOVE ZERO
MONDAY...WHILE OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL DROP BELOW ZERO AGAIN ON
MONDAY NIGHT. DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 30 DEGREES
BELOW ZERO WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR AT TIMES FROM MONDAY MORNING
INTO TUESDAY MORNING.

MORE LIGHT WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL THEN BE POSSIBLE AROUND THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
