THIS WEEKEND...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED NON THUNDERSTORM WIND RISK.

DISCUSSION...

SOUTH WIND GUSTING TO AROUND 30 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF
THE REGION TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

A WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO BRING A SWATH OF ACCUMULATING SNOW
TO EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS FROM
SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA MAY
RECEIVE MORE THAN FOUR INCHES OF SNOWFALL. IT APPEARS THAT THE
HIGHEST AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR EAST OF HIGHWAY 65 WHERE FROM FIVE TO
SEVEN INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED.

BITTERLY COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION BEHIND THIS
STORM SYSTEM LATE THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. HIGH
TEMPERATURES WILL FAIL TO WARM OUT OF THE SINGLE DIGITS
MONDAY...WHILE OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL DROP TO NEAR OR BELOW ZERO
SUNDAY AND MONDAY NIGHTS. DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO
25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO WILL OCCUR AT TIMES SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH
MONDAY NIGHT.

MORE WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL THEN BE POSSIBLE AROUND THE MIDDLE
OF NEXT WEEK.
