A WINTER STORM WARNING FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT
UNTIL 6 AM CST SUNDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...THE FREEZING LINE CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM
ROLLA...TO SPRINGFIELD...TO MONETT AND ANDERSON. THE FREEZING
LINE WILL SLOWLY LIFT TO THE NORTHWEST THIS MORNING WITH AREAS
ALONG AND JUST NORTHWEST OF THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR AT OR
SLIGHTLY ABOVE FREEZING BY MIDDAY. AREAS OF LIGHT RAIN WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHEAST THIS MORNING. WHERE TEMPERATURES ARE
BELOW FREEZING AN ADDITIONAL ONE TENTH TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH
OF FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN TODAY.
PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...A DUSTING OF LESS THAN ONE INCH
OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG THE I-44 CORRIDOR. ONE TO THREE
INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED FURTHER NORTH ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI AND
SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE QUARTER TO
FOUR TENTHS OF AN INCH OF FREEZING RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS
THE WARNING AREA. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO A HALF INCH CAN
BE EXPECTED NORTH OF I-44.

ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. SNOW ON TOP OF ICE WILL
LIKELY WORSEN TRAVEL CONDITIONS TONIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY
MORNING. ICE BUILD UP ON TREES AND POWER LINES WILL LEAD TO
SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW AND ICE
ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS
WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. CONSIDER TAKING A
WINTER STORM KIT ALONG WITH YOU. THIS KIT SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH
ITEMS AS TIRE CHAINS...BOOSTER CABLES...A FLASHLIGHT...SHOVEL...
BLANKETS...EXTRA CLOTHING AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP YOU
SURVIVE IN CASE YOU BECOME STRANDED.
