OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

LIMITED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION...

AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 95 TO 100 DEGREES WILL OCCUR IN
MANY AREAS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 90S TO AROUND 100
DEGREES ON AN AFTERNOON BASIS THROUGH SUNDAY. LESS HUMID AND
SLIGHTLY COOLER WEATHER IS EXPECTED LABOR DAY MONDAY THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH
THE PASSAGE OF A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE. ADDITIONAL CHANCES
FOR THUNDERSTORMS ARE THEN EXPECTED LATE SUNDAY THROUGH EARLY
MONDAY WITH THE PASSAGE OF A COLD FRONT. SEVERE STORMS ARE NOT
EXPECTED.
