URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Significant Ice and Sleet Accumulations Expected...

.A stalled frontal boundary will remain draped from southwest to
northeast across the Missouri Ozarks into this evening. Low
pressure will then track along this front and through the Ozarks
late tonight and Thursday morning. This front will then quickly
move southeast behind the low ushering in a much colder airmass.
Periods of freezing drizzle and light freezing rain will continue
north of the front into early this evening from southeastern
Kansas into west-central Missouri. Precipitation will then
increase in intensity tonight with period of freezing rain and
sleet, along with a few thunderstorms. Significant accumulations
of freezing rain and sleet are expected generally north of a
Joplin to Stockton to Versailles line. Lighter amounts of
freezing rain and sleet are expected from late tonight into
Thursday morning as far southeast as a Galena to Hartville to
Rolla line.

CST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. A light glaze of ice and
minor accumulations of sleet are expected. Localized sleet
accumulations up to a quarter inch are possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and southwest
Missouri.

* WHEN...From 3 AM to noon CST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
