Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

Weather hazards expected...

Limited Non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Southeasterly surface winds will gust to around 30 mph late
tonight in and around the Springfield metropolitan area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Brisk south winds will continue into Friday night ahead of
an approaching cold front. Sustained winds around 20 mph
with gusts over 30 mph are expected across southwestern
Missouri and southeastern Kansas.

A few thunderstorms will be possible Friday night into early
Saturday morning as that cold front moves through the outlook
area. No severe storms are expected at this time with cloud
to ground lightning being the main potential hazard.

Strong and gusty northwest winds are then expected behind that
front on Saturday with gusts over 40 mph likely. An elevated
fire danger may also develop Saturday afternoon, especially
in grassland areas that receive little or no rainfall Friday
night.

A few strong to potentially severe storms may develop across
south central Missouri and the eastern Ozarks from mid afternoon
into early this evening generally along and east of a
Gainesville to Rolla line. If severe storms do materialize,
large hail to size of half dollars and damaging wind gusts to 60
mph will be possible. At this time the 3 pm to 10 pm time frame
is the best window for the potential of severe weather. Most
locations will not see storms with a greater risk farther east
across eastern Missouri.

Southerly wind gusts around 30 mph are expected into early this
afternoon across southern Missouri ahead of the cold front.

Gainesville to Versailles Missouri line. Large hail to size of

greatly over short driving distances.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
